1. Start Outlook Express. Click on Tools in the menu bar and then go to Accounts.
   
   


2. This brings up the Internet Accounts pop-up window. Click on the Mail tab, to bring it to the front if it is not already so. If you are starting Outlook Express for the first time, there would not be any email accounts listed on this window.
   
   


3. To add a new mail account, click on the Add button and then on Mail as shown in the image below.
   
   


4. This brings up the Internet Connection Wizard pop-up window. Enter your name in the Display Name (the name to be displayed on your outgoing emails) field and click on the Next button.
   
   
   
5. The wizard now asks for your email address. Enter the full email address given to you by ECPI (your_name@ecpi.com) and click on the Next button.
   
   
   
6. In the next window, you need to feed in three important bits of information - the incoming and outgoing email servers and the type of the incoming email server. Server Information:

   Server Type:	The dialog should read "My incoming mail server is a 'POP3' server."
   Incoming Server (POP):	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.
   Outgoing Server (SMTP):	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.

   
   
   
7. The last information that you need to enter to complete the setup of the new account is the username and password for that email account. These details should have been provided to you by ECPI, Western Broadband at some point in time. DO NOT check the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" check box. After completing the fields for Account Name and Password, click on the Next button.
   
   
   
8. In the following window, click on the Finish button to complete the process of setting up a new email account in Outlook Express.
   
   

Click on the Start menu, then click on "All Programs," then click on Windows Mail.


1. Once Windows Mail opens, click on the Tools menu.
   
   
2. In the Tools menu, click on Accounts.
   
   
3. Click on "Add..."
   
   
4. Select "E-mail Account" and click Next.
   
   
5. Enter the name you would like displayed in the textbox and click Next.
   
   
6. Enter the e-mail address provided for you in the textbox and click Next.
   
   
7. Select "POP3" from the drop-down menu, enter "mail.ecpi.com" (minus quotes) in both textboxes and click Next.
   
   
8. Enter the username and password provided for you and click Next.
   
   
9. Click Finish.
   
   

1. Within Outlook go to the file menu and select 'Tools' and then 'Email Accounts'.
   
2. Select 'add new email account' and select type 'POP3'. You will be presented with the following fields to fill in:
   
   User Information:

   Your Name:	This is the name that will be displayed when sending your email
   Email Address:	The email address people will reply to when receiving email from you(your_user_name@ecpi.com)
   Logon Information:
   User Name:	The login you were provided by ECPI, Western Broadband.
   Password:	The password you setup with ECPI, Western Broadband.
   Server Information:
   Incoming Server (POP3):	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.
   Outgoing Server (SMTP):	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.



3. When setting up Outlook to receive emails through a ECPI hosted email address that you are accessing from a non-ECPI internet connection, select the 'More Settings' button (in some versions this is 'Advanced Settings'), and click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Then tick the box stating 'My outgoing SMTP server requires authentication', and 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server'. Please ensure you only tick the box for outgoing mail.
   
4. In the same dialog, now click the "Advanced" tab. Change the Outgoing server (SMTP) setting to '587'.
   
5. And thats it - you should be ready to go! If you are setting up an ECPI hosted email address and have any queries in the setup process please contact us and we will do our best to guide you through the setup process.

NOTE: These steps are for Thunderbird 2.0. Other versions may be slightly different.

1. When you install Thunderbird, it will launch the Account Wizard. Leave "Email account" selected and click "Next".
   
   



2. In the Identity section, you will need to enter the name which you want people who receive your messages to see, as well as your actual e-mail address. After you have done that, click "Next"
   
   



3. For the Server Information section, you will want to use the following settings, then click "Next"
   
   
   Server Information:

   Server Type:	POP
   Incoming Server:	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.
   Outgoing Server:	You should put 'mail.ecpi.com' in this field without the quotes.

   
   The Global Inbox option is a matter of personal preference - either setting will work.



4. Your User Name is the part of your e-mail address before the "@ecpi.com". After you have entered this, click "Next"
   
   



5. The Account Name is for your reference, so you can keep track of multiple accounts. If you don't care, or you can't think of something else, you can always use the name of our server, "mail.ecpi.com" or your e-mail address. After you have entered this, click "Next"
   
   



6. For most people, that's it. If everything is correct, just click "Finish", and you're done!
   
   



7. If you are using a laptop computer, you may want to be able to send messages when you are not at home - follow these additional steps to set that up.
   
   Click on the "Tools" menu and select "Account Settings..."



8. Now, in the lefthand pane, select "Outgoing Server", then click on the account name to highlight it and click "Edit..."
   
   
9. Finally, change the server port from 25 to 587, make sure the checkbox next to "Use name and password" is on and the User Name is the same as above, and that "No" is selected under "Use Secure Connection". Click "OK", and you're done!
